Blood sugar reading before eating: 101
This reading of 101 was about 6 hours after eating a light “dinner” of a 6-inch Subway sandwich.
Blood sugar reading after eating: 232
This reading was about an hour after I finished my soup. I ate the whole can, of course. And I put some hot sauce in it (Frank’s Red Hot) but I doubt it was enough to have any big effect on my blood sugar.
First, my blood sugar reading was 238. I was like WHAT THE FFFFF that can’t be right. So I did it again. 232. Yeah, it’s right.
I originally thought Campbell’s Soup would be ehh ok for diabetes because the carbs are somewhat low, or at least it looks that way to me. 29g of carbs doesn’t sound like a lot, but what the hell do I know.
Note to self: You should NOT eat Campbell’s Soup if you have diabetes!
But my problem is I that have like 5,000 cans of it. What can I say, I’m single and lazy. I’ll eat my stockpile of Campbell’s Soup over time and do some more before-and-after blood sugar tests to see if it’s really as bad as it looks right now.

I don’t know anyone who actually eats a can of that soup as ‘2 servings’. It’s a meal for one and I have how disingenuous it feels.
That spike in sugar is so big! I had no idea.
Yeah Rhett, it sucks. But at least they’re putting the “per container” numbers on the label now. 2 servings my ass! Maybe when I was 10 that would have been true.
I have a LOT of soup to eat, so I’ll be testing it again. And again, and again. I’m sure the blood sugar results will be similar, but I’ll repeat the test in the name of science.
