
Binging on just about anything but salad is probably going to deliver less-than-stellar results. But I love onion rings! What can I say.
I fried up 200g of onion rings (pre-cooked weight), which is lot o’ rings.
Blood sugar reading before eating: 100
This was late at night, several hours after dinner.
Blood sugar reading after eating: 235
This reading was about an hour after I finished the onion rings.
So, I guess we can chalk this up to a lesson learned. Onion rings are just one of those foods that have to be eaten in moderation. Also, I’m sure it doesn’t help that I eat my onion rings with a giant pool of ketchup.
