Yes, you can survive ONE Girl Scout cookie!

I only ate one Thin Mint from this box of Girl Scout cookies that a coworker brought to the office. I knew it wasn’t going to kill me, but I wanted to give it a try and see what the blood sugar hit would be. It wasn’t too bad!

Blood sugar reading before eating: 125

This reading of 125 was at work in the late afternoon, several hours after lunch.

Blood sugar reading after eating: 142

This reading was about an hour after eating my Girl Scout cookie.

So, yeah. This is really no big deal. And eating one “fun size” piece of Halloween candy was also no big deal … for the most part. The blood sugar hit from that little Almond Joy was actually kind of high.

But what happens if you eat the whole damn box of cookies? I wouldn’t recommend trying to find out. I guess the point of doing these little tests is just to show that you will not automatically die if you eat one little cookie or one little piece of candy! But I also wouldn’t make a habit out of it.
